Terms of Service

Welcome to Ask Bloom ("Bloom," "we," "us," or "our").
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ask Bloom mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using Bloom, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Bloom Is
Ask Bloom is a voice-first AI assistant that allows users to ask questions and receive spoken and on-screen responses generated by large language models.
When you speak to Bloom, your voice is converted to text in real time for processing. Bloom does not store or retain voice or audio recordings. All processing and storage occurs at the text level only.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use Bloom, or have parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Using the Service
Bloom offers both a free version and an optional paid subscription.
- The free version is fully functional and allows a limited number of questions per day.
- A subscription is not required to use Bloom.
- Paid plans unlock unlimited usage.
- Any paywalls shown in the app are presented solely to offer an upgrade and do not restrict access to core functionality.
4. Accounts and Sign-In
- Creating an account is optional.
- Users may use Bloom in guest mode without providing any personal information.
- If a user chooses to create an account, Bloom uses email-based magic link authentication.
- Bloom does not use passwords and does not support third-party sign-in providers.
- You are responsible for activity associated with your account or session.
5. Conversation History and Deletion
Bloom provides conversation history so users can review past interactions.
- Users may delete individual conversation threads at any time.
- When a thread is deleted, the associated input and output data are removed from active systems promptly.
Bloom also applies automatic data cleanup:
- Guest sessions and inactive data may be purged after extended inactivity (for example, after approximately 12 months without sign-in).
- Bloom may selectively purge older data for safety, storage, or performance reasons, even if a user has not manually deleted it.
- Bloom does not guarantee indefinite retention of history.
6. Use of AI Models
Bloom routes user queries to one or more third-party language model providers based on performance, availability, and quality considerations.
Bloom:
- Does not train its own models.
- Does not use conversations for model training.
- Uses transcripts only for performance debugging, quality evaluation, and internal analytics.
- From time to time, authorized personnel may review transcripts for quality assurance or bug investigation.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Bloom for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purposes.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Use Bloom to generate or distribute illegal or abusive content.
Bloom may limit, refuse, or remove responses as required for safety, legal compliance, or operational reasons.
8. No Professional Advice
Bloom provides general informational responses only.
Bloom is not a substitute for professional advice. Nothing provided by Bloom constitutes medical, legal, financial, or other regulated advice. You assume full responsibility for how you use the Service and its outputs.
9. Payments and Subscriptions
- Paid subscriptions are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the policies of those platforms.
- Bloom does not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds outside of platform rules.
- Pricing and plans may change with notice.
10. Suspension and Termination
- Bloom may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including misuse, abuse, legal risk, or operational necessity.
- You may stop using the Service at any time.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
Bloom makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or availability. Responses may be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Bloom is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.
- Bloom's total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed $100 USD or the amount paid by you in the prior 12 months, whichever is greater.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bloom and its affiliates from claims arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration in Chicago, Illinois, except where prohibited by law.
